I got up really early today and set off for the rice fields behind
central Ubud.
It was good to get out into an open space after feeling a
bit cramped in the main streets. I was already missing seeing blue sky.
There were so many colourful butterflies and dragonflies around, I kept doing double takes.
Drying coconut shells.
One of the many ducks that hang out in the rice.
Mandatory feet shot, evidence of my existence.
Came across this strange creation on my way to Sarik Organic Warung for breakfast..it is an Ogoh-ogoh, a Balinese monster effigy that is used in a parade to ward off evil spirits (or something like that). They are creepy (and huge!). But I think that is the point.

Completely different to my usual morning walk at home but just as refreshing.

Your photograph of the rice fields captured my attention. This blog both calms my heart and makes it yearn for adventure. It’s such a nice state for a heart to be in.
Please keep chronicling, I’m greedy for it.
